This whistle is also known as a Prairie Whistle, Swiss Bird Warbler or Double Throat Whistle and even a Ventriloquist Reed. Our Bird Whistle looks like a half moon shaped device with a cellophane reed strip. Handling the whistle and preparing it to make wonderful birdy sounds is very important and here is what you'll need to do: Take special care when handling the whistle and NEVER touch the reed with your fingers. The reed creates all the wonderful sound and can be easly torn if mishandled. This is the important part...... Before you'll be able to create a sound, the whistle needs to get wet. Place the whistle on your tongue with the round part of the whistle pointing to the back of your throat. Leave the whistle in your mouth for about 5 minutes. This action softens the reed at the front of the whistle. Once the reed is soft, push the whistle with your tongue to the roof of your mouth just by saying anything with a long SHHHHHHHHHHH sound. For example, ssssssshampoo or sssssshopping! With a little practice you'll be driving the birds crazy! This product is not recommended for children under 8 years of age.
