A world premier recording of Johann Sebastian Bach s Two Part Inventions, Organ Duets and Canons from the Art of the Fugue arranged for mandolin and mandocello. 2014 Grammy Nominee Mike Marshall and multi-award winning German musician Caterina Lichtenberg create a beautiful tapestry of texture, sound and interplay between their string instruments on these keyboard pieces. Mike Marshall is known for his mastery of a variety of styles including jazz, world and bluegrass and has been recording and touring for over 35 years. Internationally renowned musician Caterina Lichtenberg is known world wide as mandolin soloist both with orchestras and in chamber settings and has over 10 cds to her credit. She holds the only Professor position in the world today for classical mandolin at the Cologne, Germany music Conservatory. Together they bring their seemingly distant worlds together in this new recording. The music is both intellectually engaging and delightfully playful. These two virtuosi have left an indelible mark on the future of the mandolin.
