Fans cheer its perfectly realized characters, its meticulous re-creations of 1920s Melbourne locales, and restored vintage cars and other vehicles, especially Phryne’s Hispano Suiza. Costume designer Marion Boyce and her team have succeeded brilliantly in creating more than 120 costumes for the series, especially the clothes and coordinating hats and headpieces that fit Miss Fisher’s irrepressible, fluid style.
