The Godey’s Lady’s Book was a popular monthly magazine, published from 1830 to 1898. The pages of the magazine were filled with poems, stories, fashion patterns, and rules of etiquette. The skirts in this era were designed to be a perfect circle. They kept growing wider until it became difficult for the ladies to pass through doorways or get into carriages. To keep these gowns outwards, there was a complex series of crinoline hoops and supports underneath. Several maidservants needed to climb on stools to lower these extravagant gowns on the lady. - Each issue of the magazine included hand-colored fashion plates. Our creative team took fashion plates from the original magazines and meticulously restored them to their original splendor. - With just the click of a mouse, print gorgeous cards and color-coordinated envelopes for just pennies. The cards print on 8 ½" x 11" paper and fold. The envelopes print on an 8 ½" x 11" paper, then just trim & fold! To type a personalized message before you print the cards, use the Microsoft Word file. You can also hand write your message after printing the card.
