- Epoxy coating applied to back side of medal to protect capsule of soil. Do not attach another pet tag behind it on collar ring as this will scratch and dull transparency of epoxy coating.
- St. Francis is buried in a crypt built under the Basilica
- Relief image on front side of St. Francis giving his blessing to a dog. Enameled Franciscan-brown background.
